Yesterday we started the morning with opening ceremonies. This is where each team walks in with their banner.  Seth had the honor of wearing our banner:)  Seth and Chelsey competed first in the kneel jump. Chelsey broke her personal best and Seth landed all three of his jumps.  After lunch Chelsey and Marc competed in the two foot high kick.  It was much different kicking off of a wooden floor, but they both did great and had wonderful attitudes. Barbara and Dino competed in the wrist carry.  Seth and Dino carried Barbara and two Mt. Edgecombe boys carried Dino.  Everyone had great attitudes and were great sports.  They have met some new friends and run in to many old friends from past years and the basketball trip.

Today, we started the morning with the stick pull. Dino and Cara competed in this event.  Dino competed against two guys twice his size and was eliminated.  Cara did well. She won her first match, lost her second, won her third and and was eliminated after her fourth match. She did great for her first year:)

NYO--Day 2

It was another great day at the games.  It was the longest day with four events today.  We started the morning with the Eskimo Stick Pull (pictures were sent yesterday).  After lunch Barbara competed in the Toe Kick.  It is a very difficult event for her, but she did well and she learned a lot about technique and concentration.  Cara represented us well in the One Arm Reach.  She learned this event three days before she left on the FTC trip and spent time practicing in the hotel.  She made it through three round and was unable to keep her balance on the fourth round.  The final event of the day was the Two Foot High Kick.  Marc tied his personal best and Chelsey jumped higher than her personal best.

We were able to visit with many people from St. Paul today.  We ended the day with a movie, Cold Stone ice cream and some swimming at the hotel.

NYO--Day 3

It was alittle harder to wake up this morning, but we made it:)  Cara and Dino competed in the Indian Stick Pull with Crisco:)  Dino won two matches and Cara won five.  Cara almost made it to the finals.  She placed in the top ten:)  She was shocked at how well she did:)

After lunch Dino and Chelsey competed in the One Foot High Kick. They both did well and have some great springs.

The final event of the games was the Seal Hop. Chelsey and Seth represented St. Paul. Chelsey made it 3/4 of the court down on a huge court and Seth had trouble on the wooden floor, but did his best.  He had some torn up knuckles from this event.  It is much harder on the wooden floor than the rubber floor we have.  We ended the evening with a nice dinner at Outback and a few hours at a dance where they all seemed to have a great time:)

All student represented St. Paul very well and had great attitudes.  I was calling to get a wake up call last night and the gentleman on the phone told me that I had two students on my team that were very pleasant and polite (Chelsey and Dino).  I have had many comments on how polite our students are. We should be very proud of our team:)

A big thanks to the Pribilof School District, CBSFA, Tribal Government, City of St. Paul and Aleut Corporation for making this trip possible.  It has been a wonderful experience for these students. They have met many friends and learned many great skills here.  Thanks
