Hello everyone,
We made it safely to Florida! Last night we met up with the NYO team and went to dinner with them. We then departed
Anchorage at 2:00AM for a long flight to Phoenix and then Florida. 5 of the 6 students had never been out of Alaska so
the flight was pretty scary for some. We made it to our house and then the girls hit the pool that is in our back yard. Only 2 of the 6 can swim but Miss Grego worked with them and they all had fun. We are planning to have an early morning swim to practice. We then went to Wal-Mart for marathon shopping. The girls wrote in their journals and settled down around midnight to get some sleep BUT I just heard 3 of them tip toeing around upstairs!
It was neat to hear their comments today and experience traveling through "inexperienced" eyes. Some of the comments:
Wow, it is hot!
Holy Cow, Mrs. Stacks, there are cows!
Are those palm trees?
All of those people are like the ice pack....they go on forever!

Wal-mart.....yeah!
