We never give up helping our children - Our Most Precious Resource |
|---|
Another great day, today! We started the morning off with French toast sticks, fresh peaches, mangos, We arrived back for lunch and then they went back swimming for some water games with Chris, one of the teachers. Then they went on a scavenger hunt around island. The island is only 4 acres. It was a hot day today but the girls were troopers. I think they made it better than the chaperones. After this, they played in the water and had free time. We then went to watch our dinner being fileted. Kelly had caught Mahi Mahi (dolphin) and was willing to share! While he and Chris fileted the fish, they told us the history of the island. We had free time while they prepared dinner. The girls knocked a coconut out of the tree, swung in the hammock, and played. I think I snoozed in the lounger in the breeze. We then had dinner of Mahi Mahi - grilled, blackened, fried and burgers and hot dogs. After dinner, the girls went to the museum for a scavenger hunt. They played kickball with Miss Grego and then we had dessert. Finally, it was time to clean-up, pack, shower and write in journals. Today was an awesome day and I would recommend this island to any 5th grade class. We head to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow! |
